Release notes

What’s new in Munch

Every version, newest first. From 0.3.0 on, Munch installs updates itself and shows these notes before it does.

Munch 0.3.0Latest

Requires macOS 14 or later.

New

  • Files: Munch suggests old screenshots, used installers, duplicates, unopened downloads, and Desktop files you haven't touched in a while, and tucks the ones you pick into a hidden .Munch folder. Nothing is deleted, and Put back returns them.
  • Tucked away has its own page, grouped by day. Inside .Munch, files are sorted into a folder per kind, and Open in Finder gets you there without showing hidden files.
  • Undo everywhere: every munch and every Tuck away offers Undo, and the latest one stays in the tray until you use or dismiss it.
  • Preview before automating: turning on auto-close or the tab limit first shows which tabs would close right away.
  • Updates install themselves: from this version on, Munch downloads, verifies and installs new versions, then reopens. This update is the last one you install by hand.

Improved

  • The tray resizes smoothly between Tabs and Files and lists only recently closed tabs, so reopening never duplicates an open one.
  • Munch appears in the Dock while one of its windows is open, so windows don't get lost behind other apps.
  • Tuck away plays the notch munch, and each file leaves the Desktop as Munch eats it. It's quick, too: a big tidy is done in about six seconds.
  • Quit is easier to find and answers to ⌘Q.
